Why generic policies miss

A template can't write your policy.

Generic small business policies are designed for the average, a coffee shop in a strip mall, a consultant with one laptop. Your business isn't average. A restaurant's biggest exposure is a kitchen fire and liquor liability; a contractor's is installation floater and jobsite liability; a creative studio's is professional liability and equipment.

We arrange coverage that knows the difference, and we explain it in plain English. Not sure what your business is exposed to? Walk through the Coverage Explorer first.

  • Your landlord's policy protects their building, not your stock, your equipment, or your liability when a customer slips on your floor. And a package written for the average business can miss exposures specific to your industry, so it's worth reviewing against what you actually do.
  • A business owners policy = general liability + property + business income, bundled. Usually not in it: business auto, workers' comp, professional liability and cyber, which are separate. Ask what a package leaves out before you buy it.
  • Yes. It's easier to get your coverage right from day one than to fix it later, so we love hearing from new businesses. A few of the questions and the insurance companies we use are different for a new business, and we handle all of that for you.
