Michelle Rupp

CPCU, Owner

Before becoming president of this Rupp family business in 1995, I worked every job in the agency. I was involved in the early years of Trusted Choice and sat on that national board, have been active in our state insurance association and various nonprofits, where I began finding creative ways of managing staff and embracing continuous quality as a competitive advantage.

I’m very active in our local sustainability and land-use community, and do a lot of public speaking on sustainability and new ways to look at work. I am proud we are a certified B Corp, a multi-year Alfred P. Sloan award winner for workplace flexibility, a mayor’s small-business award winner and make various “best place to work” lists. We have been featured in the Seattle Times, A.M. Best’s Review and were named a Trusted Choice Agency of the Month, nationally. I am continually challenged to create a good customer experience while managing all of the variables in this changing world. I never give up!

Insurance specialist

I’m an insurance agent who is part of a robust, interactive team that looks at current trends in insurance and risk to devise creative solutions for our customers. We take pride that both our company and our clients are served in a sustainable fashion. When I’m not a part of our great work team, I love hanging out with family and friends. In addition, I enjoy the outdoors, tennis, and look forward to even playing a little golf! I especially love challenges that take me to the next level and am grateful to have a job where education, self-growth, and a healthy mind are well supported. I look forward to serving you for many years to come.

Insurance specialist

I’ve worn many hats in my life, and insurance has to be one my favorite because it enables me to continue to set goals for my mind and body. Of course, I very much love my family and friends. I also appreciate being part of a community that is bigger than I because I believe in giving back. NRG is a great place to work, and I enjoy the healthy surrounding that it provides to its employees. It’s amazing how NRG supports education for their employees and clients. Outside work, I like being adventurous – for example, being one with the road on my Harley from my home base of Spokane. “Live, laugh, and love” is the motto I live by!

Insurance specialist

Native Washingtonian and art school drop out, I started my insurance career in 1987 at the Washington Survey & Rating Bureau as a rate desk specialist and have been thriving in this business ever since. I’ve been selling insurance and advising clients in the northwest and beyond for over 25 years and I love it. I bring in depth personal lines experience and broad product and policy knowledge to the NRG team. Getting my clients the best rates is only a small part of what I do at NRG. What you can really count on from me is an education about how and why you are protecting your assets, family and future with NRG and our companies. On a personal note, I make my home on First Hill in beautiful, lively Seattle. I love the clatter, din and throb of city living but find decompression and revitalization via weekend camping adventures to the mountains, islands or coast to be the perfect recipe for balance. When I really want to grow and give my eye something new to see I use my passport. Travel is the great educator.

Accounting and administration

I began working in the insurance business 42 years ago when my husband, Don Rupp, bought Ed Nowogroski Insurance. Through the years as we expanded and purchased several agencies, I worked as a personal-lines agent and in administration and accounting. I have found it enjoyable and stimulating for two reasons: First, I liked helping people form the “peace of mind” that insurance protection provides. Second, I’ve been delighted—and frustrated!—with being part of the transition from paper records to amazing automation. One of these days I will retire, even though I’ll miss working with our amazing staff and customers. Thankfully, I’ll have great memories to take with me.

Intern Extraordinaire

I’m a recent graduate of The Evergreen State College with a B.A. in political economy of media and art. Now I hit the keyboard as NRG’s intern. My emphasis is social media. It’s exciting to spread word of a business whose values I wholeheartedly support: bona fide customer care, wellness, community, and sustainability. As much as I enjoy the beautiful view, the great company, and ever flowing caffeinated beverages, the best part of my job is connecting clients with a brokerage genuinely invested in their, and your, well-being.

While the political atmosphere, arts, and opportunities in Seattle have drawn me across the mountains, I’m originally from Central Washington. I can’t help but identify with its outdoorsy traditions and rural scenery on a fundamental level. When I’m not thrift shopping, you can probably find me fishing, and if I’m not fishing you definitely won’t find me because I’m probably out hiking in the boonies. But, lucky me, most of the time I’ll be reaching out to you!
